Women played very crucial role in the history of human space flight mission. Around 65 female astronaut travelled to space till now. Let’s know about some famous women pioneered to the journey of space exploration.

Valentina Tereshkova, created a history in the year 1963 and she was a soviet astronaut honoured for first and youngest woman on space.
Journey of women in space begins at that time though very often men are chosen
significantly for a distinct space flight mission. On 16th June
1963, She flew to space and spent almost 3 days in space in a solo space
mission named Vostok 6.
Anyone who has spent any time in space will love it for the rest of their lives. I achieved my childhood dream of the sky.
Svetlana Savitskaya:
After 19 years of 1st women Cosmonaut and aviator Svetlana Savitskaya became the second women to travel to
space. She was also from Soviet Union. In the year 1982, she walked her flight
to space and she spent around 19 days in space. On her 1984 mission, she became
the first women to fly to space twice and the first lady to perform spacewalk.

In 1956, Mae Jemison, an American engineer also former
astronaut of NASA was the first black woman in space. As a space shuttle
instructor, she was selected for the mission STS-47 for which she orbited Earth
for around eight days (12-20 september) in 1992.

Kalpana Chawala, first female astronaut of India. With dream
of becoming an astronaut and with support of her father, she accordingly moved
to U.S. and after completing education she joined NASA as a researcher. She
also worked with spaceX and Blue Origin like companies and eventually selected
for beginning her journey as an astronaut. She travelled to space to space two
times.
Her first flight was
became successful but on 1st Feb 2003, during second flight due to
explosion in space shuttle, she died with her six companion. STS-87 was her
first space flight mission and the 28th mission of Columbia; STS-107
was her second flight.
When you look at the stars and the galaxy, you feel that you are not just from any particular piece of land, but from the solar system.

The first female of America to fly in space was Sally Ride. After completing her phd in physics, she simultaneously selected by NASA as an astronaut.
In 1978, she was selected in NASA Astronaut Group 8. She worked as
mission specialists, capsule communicator. In 1983, she was a crew member for
STS-7 space shuttle mission. She flew her second flight STS-41G in 1984 for which she spent 343 hours in space.
Our future lies with today’s kids and tomorrow’s space exploration.

Eileen Collins, A NASA astronaut was the first woman pilot of
space shuttle. In the year 1990, she was joined as a pilot in NASA, became a
pilot in 1995 and in the year 1999, she became the first female commaner to
command the space shuttle as a pilot. She was a commander of mission STS-93.

U.S. astronaut Peggy Whitson, was the first woman to command
International Space Station. She has a record of reaching orbit as an oldest women
astronaut. She has a record of spending more than 534 days in space.
The future of the world may well depend upon our desire to achieve and courage to explore.
Women like above famous personality broke all life barriers, follow their path believing in their dreams, finally achieved the success they want in life. They all contributed many observations and achievements in the era of space exploration and inspired everybody to believe and live the life we ever emagined!!
