ISRO to launch PSLV C49 Today| All you need to know

What is PSLV-C49?

India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle in its 51st mission (PSLV-C49), will launch EOS-01 as primary satellite along with nine international customer satellites from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota. The launch is tentatively scheduled at 1502 Hrs IST on November 07, 2020, subject to weather conditions.

EOS-01 is an earth observation satellite intended for applications in agriculture, forestry and disaster management support. The customer satellites are being launched under a commercial agreement with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), Department of Space.

EOS-01:

EOS-01 is an Earth Observation Satellite, is put into space for the application in agriculture, forestry and disaster management system.  


International Customer Satellite:

The customer satellites are being launched along with EOS-01 under a commercial arrangement with NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), for agriculture, forestry and disaster management support.

  • Lithuania launches one satellite in the name R2. The main objective of this satellite is for technology demonstration.
  • Luxembourg launches four satellites in the name KLEOS (KSM-1A,1B,1C,1D). The main Objective of these satellites is to Maritime Application which is connected with the observation of seas.
  • The USA launches four satellite in the name Lemur (LEMUR-1,2,3,4). The main objective of this satellite is Multi-mission remote sensing.

Milestone Reached:

  • This Launch Vehicle Mission is India's 76th launch from SDSC SHAR.
  • This is 51st flight of PSLV.
  • This launch is going to be 38th launch from First LaunchPad.
  • This is 2nd Flight of PSLV-DL series.
